Waste transfer stations
We operate four waste transfer and bulking stations, which are situated alongside four of the community recycling centres in the county. Transfer stations are sites that have a weighbridge, which is used to weigh vehicles bringing commercial or trade waste to the site so that a charge can be made for its disposal. It is then bulked up for onward shipment. For more details on a particular site, please see site information. District and borough councils in Surrey also use these facilities to dispose of their kerbside collections.
If you are a householder, you will be directed to a waste transfer station only when you want to dispose of construction / house improvements waste in quantities larger than an amount that would fit in a car and therefore will need to pay a charge.
